UNIVERSITY OF WARWICK
Geetha Balakrishnan is a Professorial Research Fellow in the Physics Department at the University of Warwick and is one of the founding members of the Superconductivity and Magnetism Group. She has assembled a state-of-the-art suite of sample preparation/crystal growth facilities and is a world leader in the growth of single crystals of a wide range of materials (oxides, borides, intermetallics, chalcogenides). At Warwick the crystal growth is carried out by a range of techniques with a large effort on the crystal growth by the floating zone technique using optical furnaces. In 2010 GB was made a Fellow of the Institute of Physics.
